There’s another way to watch Wake County school board meetings online, both live and on demand.

School officials began streaming board meetings and board committee meetings this month on the district’s YouTube channel as a pilot program. For instance, you can watch today’s board work session on student assignment and see the discussion of the new formula being proposed to determine which schools need help with their performance.

You can also find Wednesday’s board policy committee meeting and last week’s work session and regular board meeting. You’ll also see non-board videos that the district has put up.

WRAL has generally streamed board meetings over the past few years. But they rarely stream committee meetings and the audio has been an issue at some regular meetings.

The WakeEd blog is devoted to discussing and answering questions about the major issues facing the Wake County school system. WakeEd is maintained by The News & Observer's Wake schools reporter, T. Keung Hui.
