Wake County schools holding classes Friday

Friday is a normal day of classes for students at Wake County’s traditional-calendar and year-round schools because snow days forced changes to the original plan for the day.

Will you be sending your children to school in Wake County today, March 28?

Originally, Friday was supposed to be a teacher workday for traditional-calendar schools and an early-release day for year-round schools. Those plans went out the window because of all the school cancellations caused by the bad weather over the winter.

Now today is a snow makeup day for traditional-calendar schools, delaying the start of spring break.

It’s also a full day for year-round schools to make up for the canceled March 8 makeup day. Wake opted to convert today day into a full day instead of holding the makeup day on Saturday.
