Wake County school system fills four principal vacancies

New principals were announced for four Wake County schools — Fuquay-Varina High School, Green Hope High School, the Wake Young Women’s Leadership Academy and Aversboro Elementary School.

The Wake County school board announced four new principals on Tuesday, including filling vacancies at three high schools.

Jonathan Enns was appointed principal of Fuquay-Varina High School with a salary of $93,625. Enns was an assistant principal at the school from 2008 to 2012 before taking his current job as principal of Phillips Middle School in Chapel Hill.

Karen Summers was named principal of Green Hope High School in Cary with a salary of $105,515. She’s been principal of Davis Drive Middle School in Cary since 2009.

Carla Jernigan-Baker was named principal of the Wake Young Women’s Leadership Academy in Raleigh with a salary of $112,075. She’s been principal of Knightdale High School since 2006.

Tiffany Stuart was appointed principal of Aversboro Elementary School in Garner with a salary of $78,727. She’s been Wake’s senior administrator for high school social studies since 2010.

Also on Tuesday, Roy Teel’s stint as interim principal of Knightdale Elementary School was extended through June 30. He’s been at the school since April.
