Wake County school board announces new principals at six schools

The Wake County school system announced new principals at Southeast Raleigh High School, Centennial Campus Middle School, Davis Drive Middle School, Durant Road Middle School, Holly Grove Elementary School and Lead Mine Elementary School.

The Wake County school board announced new principals for six schools on Tuesday.

Candis Jones was named the new principal of Southeast Raleigh High School, replacing David Schwenker. Jones, who has been an assistant principal at Wake Forest High School since 2012, will receive a salary of $88,072.

Schwenker, Southeast Raleigh’s principal since 2012, is listed as transfer to be determined. His salary is $114,280.

Edye Morris-Bryant will become principal of Davis Drive Middle School in Cary with a salary of $92,847. She has been principal of Centennial Campus Middle School in Raleigh since 2006.

Katie McMillan will become the new principal of Centennial Campus Middle School with a salary of $81,205. She has been principal of Wiley Elementary School in Raleigh since 2011.

Nancy Allen will become principal of Durant Road Middle School in Raleigh with a salary of $103,757. She has been principal of East Wake Middle School since 2009.

Kathy Knezevic is now principal of Holly Grove Elementary School in Holly Springs with a salary of $84,091. She has been principal of Washington Elementary School in Raleigh since 2012.

April Hill will become principal of Lead Mine Elementary School in Raleigh with a salary of $80,857. She has been principal of Carpenter Elementary School in Cary since 2012.

There’s typically a large number of principal changes at the end of the school year.
