Time running out for Nov. 4 Wake County sales-tax referendum to raise teacher pay

The Wake County Board of Commissioners would need to act by Aug. 4 to put on the Nov. 4 ballot a referendum asking voters to approve raising the sales-tax rate by a quarter-cent so the extra revenues could go toward raising teacher pay.
