The continued snow days in Wake County are complicating the makeup day situation for the school system’s year-round schools.
Wake has already announced that tracks 1, 3 and 4 will make up Tuesday’s snow day this Saturday, Feb. 21. But that could be thrown into doubt if Wake doesn’t reopen school on Friday.
Wake’s makeup day guidelines say that if year-round students atttend school on Thursday or Friday of a week when school has been closed, there will be a makeup day the Saturday of the same week if possible.
Another complication is the guidelines say year-round students will attend no more than two Saturdays in a row. Wake will need at least three makeup days for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Never miss a local story.
Wake only requires the students who were tracked in during the snow days to come in on Saturdays.
With all these limitations, tracks 1,3 and 4 would only be in together for the Saturdays of Feb. 21, Feb. 28 and March 7. The next possible Saturdays to pick from would be May 16, May 23 and May 30.
