Complaints about co-workers

What's your biggest beef about co-workers? CareerBuilder.com recently asked 2,667 hiring managers to cite some of the oddest complaints they received from employees. Some examples:

Employee is too sun-tanned.

Employee has big hair.

Nobody's holiday

With the budget shortfall that exists, I cannot understand why the Sales Tax Holiday weekend has not been canceled. The salary of every state employee has been cut, every state employee has been furloughed and employees have been RIF'ed. Yet the state is willing to walk away from $12 million in revenue in two days? It is irresponsible. Every revenue stream should have been pursued before one employee's salary was cut.

Correction

A promo Friday on Page 1A about a list of state employees to whom Verizon Business says it gave gifts incorrectly suggested inappropriate behavior by those on the list. The list, provided by Verizon Business, is part of an ongoing probe into whether any state employee accepted the gifts or meals in violation of state law.

Systems analyst is employee of year

Cary has named an eight-year veteran as its employee of the year. Greg Powers, 43, serves as computer systems analyst in the technology services department. He was chosen from a field of 12 nominees among the city's 1,090 employees. He was got a plaque and a $1,000 savings bond.

Powers, who supports the technology needs of the Town Council, is described by colleagues as "one who knows how to collaborate and develop effective partnerships."

Cary's Employee of the Year program was established in 1989 to recognize employees who consistently perform well beyond what the job description requires.
