CARRBORO - A public hearing on whether to grant a permit to a commercial development at 405 Jones Ferry Road is planned for Tuesday.

Northwest Property Group is proposing a three-building commercial development, anchored by a 52,250-square-foot Harris Teeter.

Early plans had labeled the shopping center The Shoppes at Jones Ferry. The second building, at 17,550 square feet, would hold 11 shops. The third, at 7,900 square feet, would hold five shops.

The hearing will be at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall, 301 W. Main St.
