Democrat Lisa Baker has lost again to Republican incumbent Rep. Nelson Dollar.
Baker, who still farms family land in Franklin County, campaigned on restoring “full funding” to education, and promoting renewable energy and small business. She lost to Dollar in 2012 during her first run at public office.
Dollar, who lives in Cary, has served five terms in the state House and is chairman of the House budget committee. He has been an advocate for reforming the state’s mental health care system.
