Democratic vice-presidential nominee Tim Kaine will campaign in North Carolina this week, including at an “early vote rally” at N.C. Central University on the state’s first day of in-person voting Thursday.
The rally is at 5:15 p.m. at 1801 Fayetteville St. in Durham. Doors open at 3 p.m.
Kaine, the U.S. senator from Virginia and Hillary Clinton’s running mate, is also rallying supporters of the Democratic ticket at events at UNC Asheville on Wednesday and in Charlotte on Thursday.
For the second straight week, both major vice-presidential candidates will be in the state. Republican Mike Pence campaigns in North Carolina Tuesday. Pence’s events are scheduled for 2 p.m. at Wilmington’s Coastline Conference and Event Center and 6 p.m. at a business in Fayetteville.
