Cafe Carolina may have to rename one of its pastries thanks to Norah O’Donnell.

O’Donnell, the “CBS This Morning” co-anchor who moderated Wednesday night’s U.S. Senate debate, was reporting for the show from Raleigh this morning. Before she signed off, she held up the Raleigh-based bakery’s distinctive box full of pastries to show co-host Gayle King, saying:

“Gayle ... I know you like those cronuts, but this is a bagel and a donut that they brought us here, so I’m calling it a bonut.”

The goodies had been delivered from the Cameron Village location in what King called an example of “southern hospitality.”

They also discussed the debate, which they called “Carolina Clash.” See it here.
