One-time presidential candidate and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is endorsing David Rouzer in the 7th Congressional District in North Carolina, Rouzer’s campaign announced Tuesday.
"David Rouzer's commitment to protect the unborn, his defense of traditional marriage, and his support for our Second Amendment rights make him the best choice for North Carolina's Seventh District. I fully support David's campaign for Congress," Huckabee said in a statement posted to his political action committee website.
Huckabee’s “Huck PAC” works to elect conservatives.
"I am honored to have the endorsement of Governor Mike Huckabee for my campaign," Rouzer said in a news release from his campaign. "Gov. Huckabee shares my concerns about the future of our country and the need to return common-sense leadership to Washington."
Rouzer, a former state senator, is running for the seat vacated by the retiring Democratic Rep. Mike McIntyre. He faces Democratic challenger Jonathan Barfield Jr.
