The Republican National Committee is launching robocalls against Democratic Sen. Kay Hagan urging her to stop playing politics with the government shut down.

The RNC said it has started running automated calls to households in the districts of three targeted senators: Hagan, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana and Mark Begich of Alaska. The calls also are going into the district of DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

The script says: “Senator Hagan and Senate Democrats think this shutdown is a game. They are playing politics by cutting off our veterans and their benefits. In a bi-partisan vote the House of Representatives wanted to make sure our veterans got the benefits they earned for fighting for our freedoms. But Sen. Hagan won’t negotiate. These men and women served our country with honor and yet Sen. Hagan would rather put partisan politics ahead of honoring our commitment to the people who defended this country. Call Senator Hagan and tell her to stand up for veterans and demand a vote in the Senate.”
