Karl Rove will travel to North Carolina later this month to attend three fundraising events for U.S. Senate candidate Thom Tillis, according to an invitation.
The GOP strategist and Fox News contributor will appear Nov. 19 at the Umstead Hotel in Cary, Nov. 20 at the home of Terry and Rosalind Hutchens in Fayetteville and Nov. 21 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. The maximum contribution level is $2,600 per person and the money is directed to Tillis’ campaign.
The invite from Tillis’ campaign calls it “America’s most pivotal Senate race.” In October, Tillis attended a meeting hosted by American Crossroads, the Rove-affiliated political action committee, that launched a web campaign this week attacking Democratic incumbent Kay Hagan.
Rove’s role in the Tillis campaign is also a flashpoint for Democrats, who call the former adviser to President George W. Bush “the king of unaccountable special interest cash.”
The Tillis campaign and Rove had previously confirmed the fundraisers but the details were not set until recently.
