Vice President Joe Biden was in Charlotte Friday morning for a Democratic fund-raising breakfast – for 15 people.

Biden attended the south Charlotte fundraiser at the home of Bert Scott and Liz Fender near the intersection of Colony and Rea roads.

Fender said Biden and guests ate a breakfast of shrimp and grits, pound cake, muffins, fruit and bread pudding.

Biden spent the night in Ballantyne. His morning visit caused traffic tie-ups in south Charlotte. He left Charlotte for Chapel Hill where he’s scheduled to headline a fundraiser for Democratic U.S. Kay Hagan.

Scott, a former executive at TIAA-CREF, is president and CEO of New York-based Affinity Health Plan.
