House Speaker Thom Tillis is holding a fundraiser Monday night sponsored by “Young Guns for Tillis.”

They could also be called “Lobbyists for Tillis” because all the people on the invitation are registered to lobby in the state.

They are: Andy Chase, Jason Deans, Bo Heath, Stephen Kouba, Scott and Kristen Laster, Chris McClure, Ken Melton, Dodie Renfer, Sarah Rothecker and Jonathan Brubaker, former House Speaker Harold Brubaker’s son.

Tillis is in the GOP primary for the U.S. Senate, hoping to take on Democratic U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan next year. Renfer used to work for Tillis in the legislature.

The invitation says these folks are “Republican Leaders of Tomorrow.” Maybe some of them could be considered leaders of today. McClure and Scott Laster are former state GOP executive directors.
