Obama nominates UNC grad as Bahamas ambassador

President Barack Obama on Friday announced he will nominate Cassandra Q. Butts, a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, as ambassador to The Bahamas.

She currently chairs the investment management committee of the Millennium Challenge Corp. and previously was deputy White House counsel to Obama.

She is a member of the Board of Visitors of UNC-CH, where she received a bachelor of arts degree. She also earned a law degree at Harvard Law School.
