Bobby Jindal to attend NC Republican convention

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is the latest headliner announced for the N.C. Republican Party convention Saturday.

Jindal, a potential 2016 presidential candidate, will speak at the luncheon in Cherokee along with former Secretary of Education Bill Bennett. Jindal campaigned for Gov. Pat McCrory in his 2012 campaign.

Also speaking Saturday: House Speaker Thom Tillis, McCrory, former U.S. Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, another 2016 GOP prospect.

In 2013, attendees heard from former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour and Karl Rove.
