UPDATED Due to the impending snow storm and dangerous travel conditions, state House Speaker Tim Moore canceled all committee meetings and the full session scheduled for Tuesday.
In the Senate, no official business will begin before noon Tuesday, but there are currently no plans to cancel its 2 p.m. session on Tuesday, according to Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger’s office. Committee meetings will be left up to chairmen and chairwomen.
Lawmakers were expected to begin returning to Raleigh on Monday afternoon. But with light calendars and the weather, it’s likely that momentum will slow until Wednesday. Moore said that it’s not likely there will be anything to vote on Wednesday, but some committees could meet.
Gov. Pat McCrory announced that non-essential state government workers in Wake County would be sent home at 2 p.m. Monday.
