* Freeze property taxes for residents over age 65 who have lived in their homes for 20 years.

* Wants to increase the state minimum wage by $1, to $7.15 an hour.

* Waive community college tuition for high school graduates.

* Has proposed a $1.5 billion transportation bond.

What he's done:

* Managed two state departments: the state Department of Crime Control and Public Safety and the Department of State Treasurer. Currently, the state's pension fund, which is managed by Moore's department, is rated second best-funded in the country.

* Holds graduate degree in accounting and finance from the London School of Economics.

What she's done:

* Led effort to protect the state's military bases from closing.

* Pushed for creation of the Green Business Fund to encourage development of green technologies.

* Created N.C. Military Foundation to help attract defense jobs.
