Economy poll

In the recent poll by The N&O and Charlotte Observer, voters identified concerns they hope candidates will address. One was the economy. We compiled what candidates in major races are saying about economic issues. We also looked at their legislative records and careers. The information comes from interviews, policy statements from the campaigns and news stories. The elections we focus on are the Democratic primary in the presidential race, the U.S. Senate primaries and the gubernatorial primaries. While Republicans will see a primary on their ballots in the presidential race, John McCain already is the presumptive nominee.
