Thursday's meal was the beginning of our "trifecta." This being eaten at our new favorite in Le Touquet, Les Deux Moineaux. We celebrated two weeks of great times, new learning experiences, and newfound friends in a new land. As was the case previously, the meal was exceptional.
Friday morning brought mixed feelings of anticipation and the specter of having to leave this great little town on the northern coast of France.
Our journey to Paris would begin with a shuttle to the train station in Etaples, then a two-hour train ride into Gare du Nord Station in Paris. Most of us slept or caught a few winks on the way.
The second part of the trifecta was our meal on Friday night at Cristal de Sel, a restaurant formerly owned by friends of Caroline. As on Thursday, the meal was wonderful.
Saturday night's meal proved to be probably the best meal of my life. I had arranged for a tasting menu at Relais Louis XIII. The price was a little steep at nearly $2,000 for the seven of us, but worth every penny.
Some of the most perfectly cooked food I have ever had! I'll elaborate on these meals in another post, but this one with what turned out to be ten courses including THREE dessert courses is one none of us will soon forget. Seems I've said that many times in this blog, but it is true. ...
