FORUM ON WISE GROWTH: Women for Wise Growth, an ad hoc group of Durham County women concerned with resource management and good government, will sponsor a free two-part public forum, "Wise Choices, or Fools for Growth?" designed to help residents better understand the relationship between our available resources -- particularly water -- and public policies on development.
The first forum is Wednesday, and the second is April 24.
Speaking on Wednesday will be: Bill Holman, senior fellow at the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions at Duke University and former secretary of the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources; Carrboro Mayor Mark Chilton; and Syd Miller, water resources program manager for the Triangle J Council of Governments.
Wednesday's forum will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Durham County Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro St. For more information, e-mail womenforwisegrowth@gmail.com or call Julia Borbely-Brown at 688-9479.

PUBLIC HEARING ON ACTION PLAN: The city of Raleigh Community Development Department will hold a public hearing Tuesday to seek input from residents on how federal funds and local funds are spent in fiscal year 2008-09.
