A motorcycle slammed into a truck turning into a driveway Thursday evening in Johnston County, killing both riders on the motorcycle, state Highway Patrol officials said.
The accident occurred about 8 p.m. near Willow Spring, in the 3300 block of Jackson King Road near Mount Pleasant Road. A man and woman on the motorcycle were pronounced dead. The driver of the pickup did not suffer any injuries.
Identities were not available late Thursday.
Trooper D. Sharpe said a man on a second motorcycle suffered serious injuries when he laid down his bike to avoid the pickup. He was taken to WakeMed Raleigh Campus with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, Sharpe said.
