Durham police are still looking for a second suspect in the case involving the use of credit cards stolen from a woman who was visiting a terminally ill child at Duke Hospital last month.
Cynthia A. Glenn, 22, of Maplewood Drive and Timothy Jovan Tate, 21, of Delano Street have each been charged with three counts of identity theft and three counts of obtaining property by false pretense, according to police reports.
Cynthia Glenn turned herself in on Friday and was released after posting a $45,000 bond.
Police said today that Tate is not in custody at this time. The owner of the credit cards left her purse in a hospital room April 25, according to a news release issued by Durham police.
The cards were used that weekend for $90,000 in purchases from Belk, Wal-Mart and Apple and convenience stores in Durham, Raleigh, Wake Forest and Knightdale, police said.
A security camera in one store captured images of Glenn using the stolen cards on April 25 to buy gift cards. She wore hospital scrubs at the time. She was accompanied by Tate.
Anyone with information on Tate's whereabouts is asked to call Investigator Holland at 560-4440, ext. 254 or CrimeStoppers at 683-1200.
CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases and callers never have to identify themselves.
