RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK — The Council for Entrepreneurial Development has hired Joan Siefert Rose, the general manager of N.C. Public Radio WUNC-FM, as its new president.
Rose, who joined WUNC in 2001, starts her new job in August. CED, a nonprofit group, expanded from a group of volunteers 25 years ago into a Research Triangle Park organization with more than 4,000 members from 1,100 companies.
CED supports entrepreneurs by helping them find funding, sponsoring workshops and networking events, and more.
Rose, 51, replaces Monica Doss, who ran CED for 22 years but announced in February she was retiring. Doss’ last day is Friday.
At WUNC, Bob Levin, who is the station’s chief operating officer, will serve as interim general manager. UNC officials will start a search for a permanent replacement.
