RALEIGH -- One man was seriously injured Friday in a two-vehicle wreck at the interchange of Rock Quarry Road and the Beltline, police said.

According to a police news release, a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Paul Allen Kuerbitz, 19, attempted to turn left from Rock Quarry Road onto the Beltline about 12:30 p.m. A 2004 Mercury Mountaineer operated by Starla Hale Strasser, 45, was traveling south on Rock Quarry Road when the vehicles collided.

Kuerbitz was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, police said. Strasser and her 9-month-old son were taken to a hospital for evaluation; they were not thought to be seriously injured. No charges have been filed.

Kuerbitz was not wearing a seat belt, according to the police report. Strasser was wearing a seat belt, and her son, Logan Hale Strasser, was secured in a rear safety seat, the report said.
