RALEIGH -- A Clayton man spent the weekend in jail, charged with stealing metal cemetery vases worth more than $75,000.

Warrants accuse Todd Michael Raymond, 37, of 135 Penny St. in Clayton of stealing more than 500 brass or bronze cemetery vases from Montlawn Memorial Gardens and Mount Hope Cemetery. He was arrested Wednesday by a Raleigh detective and charged with five counts of felony larceny.

The warrants say the thefts took place from mid-March to the end of May. Raymond was being held in lieu of $20,000 bail and is due in court today.
