HOLLY SPRINGS - An argument between two friends led to the fatal stabbing of a 37-year-old man in Holly Springs shortly after midnight, a town spokesman said today.

The victim, Ronald Deon Dunn, lived at 5805 Goolsby Street, which has an Apex mailing address but is only a short distance from the mobile home park on Sunset Lake Road where he was stabbed a little before 12:45 a.m., said Mark Andrews, a Holly Springs town official.

Police charged Dunn's friend, Charles Leon Horton Jr., 31, of Stephenson Road in Apex with murder. He is in the Wake County jail without bond. A first court appearance was scheduled this afternoon, the release said.

Andrews said the altercation began inside at residence at the mobile home park. The fight moved outside where Dunn was stabbed.

Police would not say how many times he was stabbed. Police also have not disclosed whether Dunn was armed during the fight. Police did not know how the fight started.

"That's part of the police investigation," Andrews said.

Holly Springs police received a call about a fight in progress at Sunset Lake Mobile Home Park about 12:45 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found Dunn in a driveway. Holly Springs Fire-Rescue took him to Wake Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, the release said.

Horton was arrested without incident about two hours later at a residence on Blalock Street in Holly Springs.
