HOLLY SPRINGS -- Holly Springs police have issued a statewide alert for a missing Holly Springs woman who authorities say may have been abducted Sunday morning. Her ex-boyfriend is considered a person of interest.

Shelly Pannell, 25, of 1117 New Hill Road was reported missing by her family shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday. Police said there were signs of a break-in at the home. Pannell is black and 5 feet 7 inches tall. Police gave no additional physical description, and no description was available of the clothing she was wearing when last seen.

Police say she may be with Earnest Lee Bryant, 25. Authorities listed Holly Springs and Henderson addresses for him. He is reported to be driving a 2005 turquoise Toyota Highlander with the North Carolina license plate SXT 6693.

Apex police reported that a witness may have seen the Toyota Highlander about 11 a.m. headed north on U.S. 1. A man inside the vehicle appeared to be behaving aggressively toward a female in the car.

Holly Springs police said Bryant has an arrest record and has been known to carry a firearm.

Anyone with information is asked to call Holly Springs police at 557-9111.
