Capital Area Transit and Durham Area Transit Authority buses will offer a system-wide fare free day tomorrow.

Cricket Communications is sponsoring the free fare day, according to a media release.

“With gasoline prices at record highs, we think that helping people save money is a great way to give back to this community,” said Hank Taylor, district director of Cricket.

This is the first time an area business has partnered with CAT in this way, the release said.

Riders will also have the opportunity to register to win a free iPod Shuffle on behalf of Capital Area Transit and a free phone with one year of activation on behalf of Cricket Communications at Moore Square Transit Station.
