Wendell man arrested for 2007 rape

closeA Wendell man has been charged with rape in connection with an incident that occurred in Octboer 2007.
Gavin Coleman Smith, 21, of Volterra Court, is charged with second-degree rape. A warrant was issued for Smith's arrest on June 10.
Smith received a prayer for judgment last year for simple assault. He also has a July 11 trial date for assault and battery.

Smith, who was arrested by Wake Forest police on his latest charge, remained in Wake County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
