Durham police say death could be homicide

Unidentified man died of gunshot wound

DURHAM - Durham police are investigating a possible homicide on the southside of town overnight.

Someone reported hearing gunshots at 3020 Weaver Street near Cornwallis Road at about 2:30 a.m. When police arrived, they discovered the body of an unidentified black man in a vehicle, dead from a gunshot wound.

Police have released no other information about the man, the vehicle or the circumstances around his death. But they ask anyone with information about the case to call Durham Crimestoppers at 683-1200 or Det. C. Robinson at 560-4440, extension 264.
