DURHAM -- Police arrested a man they say fired a gun into an occupied house and assaulted another man with intent to kill.

Michael McLaurin of 505 Dowd St. was arrested Saturday and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and discharging a weapon into occupied property. Warrants say McLaurin shot a handgun into a house at 1313 Tucker St. while three people were inside and assaulted Daryle Previes.

McLaurin was being held at the Durham County jail Sunday in lieu of $85,000 bail.
