RALEIGH -- A man accused of killing his 2-year-old son 16 years ago is now in the Wake County jail after an international extradition.
Maxine Edmond Pardo, 44, was charged in the death of his son Nigel Brown in 1994.
Pardo was arrested in Haiti earlier this month and arrived in Raleigh on Sunday.
The warrant for the arrest was issued more than a year after Nigel's death, but by then Pardo had left Raleigh for New York, Puerto Rico or Haiti, according to court documents.
Pardo was born in Haiti and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1989.
He is being held without bond.
