Eastern Wake County residents are invited to attend a community forum on the new Lake Myra County Park on Thursday, July 31 at 7 p.m., in the Wendell Community Center Gymnasium, 601 West Third Street, Wendell.

The meeting will focus on the park's design.

The July 31 meeting is the third in a series of community forums planned over the next few months. More than 50 residents attended public meetings in April and June, according to a press release from Wake County.

Future park meetings will be held on Sept. 9 and Oct. 21 to discuss the park's master plan.

Citizens are invited to bring photographs and memorabilia related to the Lake Myra property to the meeting. Wake County staff will scan selected photographs and other information for project files.

The 220-acre park will be located along Poole Road, north of the intersection of Poole Road and Lake Myra Road, the release said.
