PITTSBORO -- Authorities on Sunday released the name of a boater who drowned Saturday in Jordan Lake.
Officers with the state Wildlife Resources Commission said Edmund McKibbin, 46, of Garner, apparently fell overboard and never resurfaced.
There was no foul play and no alcohol involved, Officer Richard Rains said. Family members said McKibbin could swim, Rains said. His body was found in 15 feet of water near the Poplar Point Park boat ramps Saturday afternoon.
