ATTEND ANGEL BALL AT DUKE GARDENS
The 2008 Cherubs Angel Ball will be held from 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the Sarah P. Duke Gardens at Duke University in Durham. Cherubs is a nonprofit group, The Association of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Research, Advocacy and Support. The group supports families of children with the condition, a birth defect which involves the abnormal development of the diaphragm. The ball raises money to support families and fund more research on the condition. The event will include food, entertainment from The Stone Age Romeos and a silent auction. Men are encouraged to wear tuxedos, and women are encouraged to wear their wedding dresses to go along with the angel theme. Tickets cost $50. STRIKE OUT AUTISM AT MUDCATS GAME
A "Strike Out Autism" event to benefit the Mariposa School for Children with Autism in Cary will be held Wednesday in conjunction with the 7:15 p.m. Carolina Mudcats game against the Jacksonville Suns at Five County Stadium, Zebulon.
