Pedestrian hit on Western Blvd.

RALEIGH - A pedestrian was hit this morning by a car at the intersection of Western Boulevard and Avent Ferry Road, according to Raleigh police.

The pedestrian, Rashid Pierre Riboul, was seriously injured, police said.

According to a police report, Latonya Lynnette McKoy of Raleigh was driving a 1998 Nissan east on Western Blvd. Riboul was crossing Western Blvd. at the intersection with Avent Ferry Road.

A witness, who was stopped at a light on Avent Ferry Road, said McKoy hit the pedestrian, but did not slow down until after the impact.

McKoy was not injured, according to the report.
