Pickett Road to be closed until November

DURHAM -- The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close a section of Pickett Road from Randolph Road to Garrett Road in Durham beginning Wednesday at 7 a.m. until Nov. 21.

Pickett Road will be open to residents living within the closure, according to a press release from the N.C. Department of Transportation.

Motorists traveling east on Pickett Road should use the following signed detour:

Pickett Road to Randolph Road to Erwin Road to Cornwallis Road to Western Bypass Road back to Pickett Road.

Motorists traveling west on Pickett Road should use the following signed detour:

Pickett Road to Western Bypass Road to Cornwallis Road to Erwin Road to Randolph Road back to Pickett Road.

Motorists should also be advised of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Pickett Road and Western Bypass Road. The closure is necessary to replace the bridge over Mud Creek, the release said.
