RALEIGH -- Police this weekend charged a Raleigh man with stealing $15 from an elderly ice cream vendor they say he punched repeatedly.
Christopher Carl Watson, 41, of 828 Cross Link Road in Raleigh, is charged with common law robbery.
According to court records, the suspect approached Momoh Babatuday, 72, and demanded free ice cream. When Babatuday refused, Watson "repeatedly punched vic[tim] until he was extremely bloody and then stole $15."
Records do not specify where the robbery took place.
Watson was arrested Saturday and was being held Sunday in the Wake County jail with his bail set at $25,000.
