Orange County has temporarily taken down its online database for researching real estate documents after the system was exposed to a computer virus last week.

According to a news release from the Register of Deeds Office, which maintains the real estate records, the virus did not infect the computers of those who used the Web site last week.

The public can research county real estate records at the Register of Deeds Office, 228 S. Churton St., Hillsborough.
