Three injured in I-40 wreck

closeA three-vehicle accident late Thursday injured three people and closed all eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 between Lake Wheeler Road and Gorman Street, police said.
Traffic was rerouted — slowly — on the interstate until lanes began reopening around 11 p.m.
The accident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Police had no information on the severity of the injuries. One person was pinned in the wreckage, police said.
