Someone who bought a Powerball ticket at a convenience store in Fuquay-Varina has won $800,000, state lottery officials said today.

The person who bought the ticket has yet to claim the prize. It was sold at Kangaroo Express on North Main Street.

The ticket matched all five white balls and was "power played" to win the jackpot in Wednesday's drawing. Because the Power Play multiplier was 4, the usual $200,000 payout increased to $800,000.

Also, lottery officials said a Durham man won $142,573 in the Carolina Cash 5 game on Tuesday. Barry Johnson bought the lottery ticket at RJ's Country Store on N.C. 39 in Townsville in Vance County.
