An Apex man won $800,000 in a Powerball drawing last week.
IB Rasmussen bought the ticket for Wednesday's drawing at Kangaroo Express on North Main Street in Fuquay-Varina, state lottery officials said in a news release. He plans to use the money to buy a house and perhaps take a trip.
Rasmussen paid an extra dollar to Power Play his ticket, which matched all five white balls drawn. Because the Power Play multiplier for the drawing was 4, the normal $200,000 payout was increased to $800,000.
