Veterinarian wanted on Chatham board

PITTSBORO -- The Chatham County Board of Commissioners is seeking a veterinarian to serve on the Chatham County Board of Health.

The term runs through June 30, 2011. Once appointed, the member is eligible for reappointment for additional three-year terms. Qualified applicants must be residents of Chatham County and have a current license to practice veterinary medicine in North Carolina.

The Chatham County Board of Health oversees the Chatham County Public Health Department. Meetings are held at 6 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month with dinner provided and reimbursement for mileage.

Applicants must complete a volunteer application form, which can be obtained from the clerk of the Board of Commissioners at (919) 542-8200 or at www.chathamnc.org. Applications must be submitted by Sept. 30.
