WAKE MUTT STRUTT BENEFITS ANIMAL FOSTER CARE

Wake County residents can attend the annual Mutt Strutt, a dog walk supporting the Wake County Animal Care, Control and Adoption Center, on Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon at Historic Oakview Park, 4028 Carya Drive, Raleigh. The event, which is held as part of World Rabies Awareness month, will offer $5 rabies shots and $10 microchipping of pets.

Proceeds will be used to support the animal foster care program. The program provides temporary homes for dogs and cats that are too young or too sick to be adopted. Funds will be used to offset the cost of medical care, supplies and food for pet foster families.

The event also will include pet activities such as a 1-mile dog walking path, dog contests and demonstrations of agility, flyball and musical freestyle. Exhibits, vendors, a children's area and raffles also will be available.

For more information, visit www.wakegov.com/pets or call 212-7387.
