RALEIGH -- In a move designed to make higher education more accessible and affordable, N.C. State University and Wake Technical Community College announced Monday a new partnership that will allow Wake Tech students who want to obtain a bachelor's degree to move seamlessly into an undergraduate degree path at N.C. State.

Wake Tech students who qualify can receive guaranteed admission to N.C. State after completing an associate's degree and meeting N.C. State program requirements, according to a news release from the community college. To be eligible, students must have completed their first semester at Wake Tech with a 3.0 grade-point average and a minimum of 12 credit hours at the 100 or 200 level.

Once admitted to the program, each student will complete a work plan and identify a future program of study at N.C. State. While at Wake Tech, program participants who meet the eligibility requirements will be able to take one course a semester at N.C. State during the fall and spring semesters. Wake Tech and Campbell University unveiled a similar program earlier this month.
