The N.C. Technology Association has tapped Brooks Raiford, previously director of business development for a commercial construction firm, as the organization’s new president.
Raiford, who for the past three years has been with Balfour Beatty Construction in Raleigh, succeeds Peter Hermann. Hermann resigned in June after just five months on the job for personal reasons.
The previous top executive was Joan P.H. Myers, who departed in August 2007 after seven years with the trade group.
“NCTA is an integral part of the North Carolina technology community, providing numerous opportunities for bringing together executives from all over the state to form meaningful business connections,” Raiford said in a prepared statement. “I couldn’t be more pleased to step into the role of president with an organization that is so well-respected in North Carolina.”
Raiford’s appointment was announced at a press conference this morning.
