RALEIGH -- Police charged two more Wakefield High School students Tuesday with injuring a fellow student so badly Monday that he will need multiple reconstructive surgeries.

Investigators charged Micah Hakeem Conley, 16, of 5101 Duckworth Court in Raleigh with assault inflicting serious bodily injury. They also charged Stephen Shawn Wilson-Chism, 16, of 5009 Whisper Court in Raleigh with accessory after the fact, according to arrest warrants.

The attack Monday marks the third time this month that a Wake County high school campus has been beset with student violence. Greg Thomas, a Wake County Schools spokesman, said he could not talk about specific students, but typically a student faces suspension or expulsion for fighting on campus.

The attack Monday took place about 7:20 a.m., when two students confronted a 15-year-old in the main hallway of the school near the gym, Thomas said.

Police have accused Conley and another teen, Tyree Shajuan Lee, 17, a ninth-grader, of picking up the younger teen and slamming him to the ground. Police think Conley stomped the face of the 15-year-old, whom court records did not identify. Police think Lee, who was arrested Monday, also punched the 15-year-old numerous times in the face, court records show.

Police think Wilson-Chism exchanged shirts with one of the other teens so police would not recognize him, court records show.

Thomas said he did not know what led to the incident.

Police took Conley and Wilson-Chism to the Wake County jail, where they remained Tuesday.

Lee, of 5120 Duckworth Court, was charged with assault inflicting serious injury, a jail spokesman said. He was released Tuesday after posting $25,000 bail, a court spokesman said.

Conley's mother, Carolyn James, offered a public apology to the family of the 15-year-old. "Sometimes kids make wrong choices," she said of her son. "He made a wrong choice. Now he's paying for it."
